Be A Freelancer! Its Fun, Its Easy, And Its Good Money!

I gotta tell ya there are so many different ways to make money online it's insane! Some of these ways can pay your cell phone bill and others can pay your mortgage! The first thing you're going to have to do if you want to become a freelancer is figure out what you are good at and figure out how you can sell that to people or if they would even have a use for it.For instance; I'm an article writer and article marketer but, I also do other things as well such as web content, blog content, ebooks and sales letters.

There are a lot of different people out there looking for people such as me to do these content jobs for them. The problem with writing is you have to actually be good at it.This isn't something you can just wing and expect it to sound good unless your doing some sort of a cheat!Once you figure out what you're good at you can figure out then how to sell it to people.

I started out with forums but, I hope to quit that soon and start working directly with bigger corporations and companies!Either way you decide to go, maybe a couple of the freelancer "ideas" will help you along on at least your first step to becoming a freelancer; the figuring out what you want to do part!

Content Writer - In my opinion a content writer and an article writer are two different things. But a content writer can be an article writer and an article writer can be a content writer!A content writer, writes for your website. It doesn't matter if they have a professional type website, or a word press blog/website.You can find people that have websites about topics or subjects you have extensive knowledge about. You will write content for their websites and they will pay you per however you charge. Some people pay per page, per word, per day, etc. It's your service, charge what you will but again, be fair and honest with your prices.

Web Design & Development - These are two practices not everyone is good at.I can market, optimize, write do a ton of other things. But when it comes to web design or development the closest thing I know is Myspace html codes!I'm not the only fool like this!Again, there are millions of people out there that either don't know how to do this, or just don't have the time. This is a great service to offer if you know how to do it.

SEO a.k.a.search engine optimization - As a service provider you could easily find people that need their sites optimized. The most important thing, may be to convince them why they need this service because a lot of people don't even know what optimization is or why they need it.This is where you come in.Build a nice little professional website, and tell them why.List all your reasons.Make some affordable packages for individuals as well as bigger companies and corporations.

SEM a.k.a.search engine marketing - You can provide your all-knowing search engine marketing techniques to people online.Or better yet you could teach people how to do it on their own. Most of us know that SEO and SEM are two very important processes but so many people don't know how to market or optimize their websites. This is valuable information for the buyer.

Obviously these are just a few ways but you really could do anything service or any business online that you want as long as it sells. No sense in doing something that isn't going to make you money right?Even if you don't make a ton of money right now, it could lead into you making some big bucks in the end after you figure out a business plan and all of that stuff!

Freelancing is really cool, I really love it; I get to work for myself, I don't have to work in 140 degree kitchens (I'm a Chef), I can do whatever I want with my extra time, and I can go as far up on the totem pole as I want to!And best of all?I get to actually do something I love doing and I get paid for it!This could be a really great option for you so make sure you check it out!

In Business You Must Talk, Not Bark!

I live to please my masters!I love doing this!If they are happy, I'm happy!Pleasing them doesn't take much.Wagging my tail in front of them, usually do the trick, or moving my cute face to the side. They always go: Ahhh!I do this three or four times a day only.I don't want to spoil them. You know how spoiled humans are, you give them a tail and the next thing, they want your bone.

I'm very protective of my bones.

My only bone to pick with them is when I bark. They hate when I start barking a lot, they say there is no need to shout, shouting is bad!Sometimes I ask myself, so how do I make a point without barking? This is a learning experience for me.

They try to help me overcome this minor weakness by telling me stories about social media and how people behave online.

Actually they were telling me the other day that the same thing happens in the Social media environment.People want to be noticed, to have their business noticed and instead of talking they start to shout. This is not the right approach.People there get really mad when other people start shouting at them.

You need first to listen to the conversation going on and then start giving your two cents in that conversation, start talking to people about your point of view.Never shout to everybody and just talk about yourself.Start advertising what you do without paying attention to what people are talking about. That is as annoying as a dog barking non-stop.

Talk to people after you listened to then and when people start listening to you, you then, take the ball and start running with it.

Boy, am I good at that!

I tend to forget and not bring the ball back.It is so fun, but then, there is no ball for them to throw so I can go fetch.

Same thing online, the conversation needs to be non stop and with both sides participating.

It sounds so simple, but sometimes when you have the ball is so hard to give it back!

Eventually, we all learn.I did, so can you.

The market place is a dog-eat-dog world. You need to be smart like me if you want to succeed, and you need to be authentic. This is a point I have no problems with.I'm always 100% myself. My tail doesn't lie.I can't wag it if I'm not happy.

Today, you need to be the leader of the pack to succeed. We need leaders, we need business leaders. We need leaders that have something unique to offer.

You can't just roll over and play dead anymore, anyone can do that. What is unique about you and your business?

I'm a white schnauzer. Most schnauzers are salt and pepper, but not me.I stand out from the crowd.I made no effort to be white, I was born that way and this helps, but I've developed some techniques to be more unique and get my audience to do what I want.

When I go to the park, I approach other dogs, put my behind into the air and invite them to run with me.I always lead them.I don't just go and sniff their butts, I have my own way of making contact and get them to do what I want.

How do you approach your prospects and get them to act?

These are very important questions that you need to sink your teeth into.

One last thing I need to tell you: You need to be protective of your market, you need to defend your position.I make sure I know where each of my toys are and never let anyone touch them without my permission.I also like to sniff out information about what is going on in the house and make sure they notice me.I'm on top of things.Well, maybe not literally, because if I go on top of real things in the house, they get mad at me.You should do the same.

Don't think that just because they noticed you yesterday, they will remember you today.Make sure you are always in touch.Be loyal and faithful to your audience always. It pays off.By being loyal and faithful to their owners, dogs are known to be man's best friend. If you consider all the animals in the world, that is very good positioning for dogs.

We reached this point by being consistent in being loyal and faithful. Are you consistent in your business efforts?See, there is a lot of things you can learn from dogs.Does this discovery make your happy?I'm happy!

Changing your Mindset to Get Your Children Through the Recession

These are very difficult times and there are plenty of families who are starting to feel the financial pinch. Many families have noticed that the promised fuel cuts have not reduced their fuel bills to the level prior to the hikes which we have experienced in the last twelve months; the mortgage rates are not reflecting the reduced interest rates and to top it all the weekly shop, despite adverts promising savings seems to be getting more expensive.

So how do you cut your costs further without the kids particularly noticing? This is not about the individual actions; it is about changing your mindset.Children love to have new experiences and they love to do things with their friends, or even better to be the expert and to introduce their friends to a new activities will certainly give them the edge.We are not suggesting that you suddenly get your kids weaving and making their own clothes, simple things, get the kids to make the cakes which they can eat when their friends come round to play. Then you can progress to making bread.Bread is great for kids; they love the idea of watching it grow and then sticking their fingers in or punching it back so that it can grow again. The important thing is to make sure that your children share their new skills with their friends. This is make them want to progress.

Movies are great, but regular trips to the cinema can get costly, apart from the tickets there is getting their, parking, taking their friends, buying the drinks and popcorn. It all adds up and before you know it, the kids are expecting it and it has become a habit hard to break. So don't take this away suddenly and drastically so that the children feel deprived, wait until one is not quite well, or it is horrid weather, the film they want is booked. You need to find a reason acceptable to them not to go and then introduce a new activity.

If you have kids who like to be messy, and a little bit of outside space it is a great idea to get them gardening. The first time I managed to get my eldest son to eat peas was after he had spend the previous hour shelling them.If you haven't got any outside space, something we suffer from, then there are great days out at farms where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables. These are wonderful fun activity and you get to eat loads of strawberries after, what more of a reward can a child ask for?

If the recession is going to be half as bad a some of the experts are predicting then we need to start thinking about bringing up a generation who are less materialistic and have a greater understanding of what is important. We need to have healthy children who know how to use their imagination and how to apply their knowledge. We do not know what sort of a work environment they will enter, but you can guarantee that it will be drastically different from the current one.Parenting has always been hard and now it is even more important that we do our best to prepare our kids, you cannot completely shield them from a global economic meltdown.

Decreasing Electricity Costs With PrePaid Electricity Meters

Last year (2008) was a tough year for South African households. As interest rates rose 7 times, mortgage bonds killed excess cash in household budgets.Adding to the problems, petrol prices sawed making an already difficult situation even harder.

Adding to the problems South Africans were faced with "load shedding" power failures to decrease the load on the utility companies which couldn't cope anymore with the high demand on the infrastructure.

Hot on the heels of the "load shedding" debacle, South Africans received the news that Electricity Prices will have to be increased.

Depending on area, utility prices were hiked between 14% and 20% in various areas to upgrade infrastructure, once again placing additional financial pressure on households.

Utility companies have stated that increases are not flat rate but per usage. In other words, the more you use the higher tariffs you pay.For this they created prices breaks per usage. This in turn created a situation where the household has become responsible for using less electricity in order to avoid the higher bracket tariff rates. But how would a household use less, when they only find out how much they use when the bill arrives? At which point it is of course too late to turn back the clock and reduce usage.

Both households and commercial properties need the use of a system that can help them monitor consumption on an ongoing-basis during the month.Greater transparency into ongoing consumption creates greater awareness with which people can take steps to cut usage and conserve in order to reduce consumption before the bill arrives.

For this reason, many residential houses, landlords with tenants and commercial premises have started to use secondary prepaid meters.Such meters enable daily monitoring of use by way of a digital display. When one sees the usage daily, one can take action based on this input. One can replace old devices, trying new devices that are more electricity efficient, switch off lights when and where these are not necessary, etc.

Furthermore, there is no longer a need to budget for electricity usage.Once the usage is prepaid, one can reduce the usage for that budget to last longer. It helps both with budgets and especially with better cash flow in households.

Since the increases in electricity tariffs more tenants both residential and commercial are asking landlords to install secondary meters simply for monitoring purposes.Once installed a very interesting phenomena has been found. Many users of prepaid electricity meters significantly change the electricity usage habits.

Electrical heaters are replaced with cheaper heaters that use gas, geyser timers are installed.Geysers are one of the largest contributors to domestic electricity bills.Timers enable users to switch on their geyser for only a few hours in the day during periods when hot water is required.Other people are buying electricity saving light bulbs, they are far more expensive than normal light bulbs but can cut 1000's in the electricity bill for many months.

In summary, it was found that prepaid electricity was once considered a bad thing because you have to dish out the money in advance, proved to be extremely useful when reducing the use of electricity and therefore the month electricity bill.

One of the major barriers to people and commercial properties using prepaid electricity was payment habit. Why pay in advance, when you can deal with it later? However, since the increases in electricity tariffs, this barrier has been lowered.Consumers that were once unhappy about prepaying for electricity are now happy that prepaid meters have been installed. They never thought they could save so much in electricity until they started monitoring their own use.
